Australian Preconception Paternal Mental Healthcare Guidelines — Have your say

Men and boys’ health and wellbeing before fatherhood

We know that supporting men and boys’ health before conceiving a child can promote their own short and long term wellbeing, their fertility and the health of their future children.

Specifically, taking care of the health and wellbeing of men and boys before they become fathers can help to prepare them for fatherhood and protect their future mental health.

That’s why Deakin University, working with Healthy Male and an international team of researchers, has developed the world’s first Preconception Paternal Mental Healthcare Guidelines.

We’re consulting with men, the people in their support systems, and professionals supporting men and boys across health, community and education, to make sure the guidelines are useful, clear and practical.

Your insights will help us understand

How useful the guidelines are

If and how they might be used in practice

How they could be improved

How to get involved
