Paternal preconception mental health care guidelines — have your say

Men and boys’ mental health before fatherhood

We know that men and boys’ health before conceiving a child can affect their fertility, the health of their future children, and their own wellbeing.

Taking care of your mental health before fatherhood can help you prepare for fatherhood and look after your future mental health.

That’s why Deakin University, working with Healthy Male and an international team of researchers, has developed the world’s first Paternal Preconception Mental Health Care Living Guidelines.

We’re consulting with men and the professionals who support them across health, community and education, to make sure these guidelines are clear, useful and practical.

Your insights will help us understand

How useful the guidelines are

If and how they might be used in practice

How they could be improved

How to get involved

Read the Paternal Preconception Mental Health Care Living Guidelines (download here).

For men: Share your thoughts on whether the guidelines are useful and what would make the more helpful
For health, community and education professionals: Share your thoughts on how useful these guidelines are, if and how you might use them, and how they could be improved
